Organic Interbeing: Inspired by bell hooks’ Quote, “interbeing and interdependency as the organic relationship of all living things”*, by Nadia Daniels-Moehle. 2019. Ink on paper.

When I first read bell hook’s writing, her words slipped past my fingers as the pages turned, her words seeped into me.
Eleven words in hooks’ book The Will to Change (WorldCat / Bookshop) reminded me that humans constantly reimagine and come back to what we have, in one form or another, always known. Reflecting on hooks’ and my own experience, I wonder if one of our most human traits is our precious balance between dependence and independence. At the balancing point is interdependence: personal accountability melded with trust in others–hooks writes of,
“interbeing and interdependency as the organic relationship of all living beings.”
