On Samhain, Día De Los Muertos, the celebration of ending, of death and remembering, my independent study On Perception, Reflection, and a Year within the Golden Spiral begins.
On Perception, Reflection, and a Year within the Golden Spiral will consist of works alternating between art that illustrates essays, which I will work on every week for a year.
After finishing CognEYEzant:365 earlier this year, I knew my initial exploration of creativity and perception had just begun. Inspired and informed by CognEYEzant:365, On Perception will zoom in from exploring eyes and the vastness of perception to exploring the interdisciplinary connections–like literature and science, the humanities and visual arts, from cultural theory and childhood memories, and more–that inform and create perceptions via the only perception I can really know: my own.
All of On Perception’s artwork will culminate into a single installation, which will be on display at Higher Art Gallery in October 2020.
I can’t wait to embark on this journey with you.
